GRAVENHURST–Introduction to Indigenous Regalia Shawls and Pattern Design

Join us for socializing and learn more about Indigenous culture. This month we are focusing on Indigenous Regalia Shawls such as Fancy Shawls, Metis Sash Shawls, and Tlingit Button Shawls. Our local urban Indigenous community members come from the nations featuring these. Learning more about the importance, significance and even the differences while designing your own pattern and getting ready for next month’s project–making your own. Our Non-Indigenous participants will be able to make a shawl but will be encouraged to include their respective culture within their designs.
