2024–Changes

Due to the Bracebridge Public Library packing books and getting ready to move to their new home…..we started looking for a new home so that we can bring you better and improved services and support programs in Bracebridge….

We have partnered with the Bracebridge Community Church (Salvation Army) at 456 Manitoba Street, Bracebridge.

Starting July 24, 2024, once a month from 1-3pm. Come in the front doors and you will find us on the left hand side in the “Fireside Room”. Check out the events page for more dates and activities listed.

This site will run similar to Gravenhurst–no pre-registration required, just come in and join us when you can.

2022 beading activity

Orange Shirt Pin

The Bracebridge Public Library invited Theresa Buker (Diligent Harvester) to come and lead a simple beading workshop. The Orange Shirt Pin was chosen so that everyone could remember–EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

It was a great activity, enjoyed by all who participated.

TRC Day-2021

NisoMakwa started a journey of healing in 2021. By tying orange ribbons around the Bracebridge Falls, he caught the attention of many, including the Muskoka Indigenous Friends Cultural Centre. Together, along with others in the community, over 7,000 orange ribbons were tied to the railings on September 18. Then a month later, everyone gathered again to solemnly remove these ribbons.

These ribbons will be repurposed into a very large community quilt. A quilt aimed at keeping the conversation of Truth and Reconciliation going.

Become A Member

Indigenous and Non-Indigenous community members who reside in the District Municipality of Muskoka are eligible to become members of the Muskoka Indigenous Friends Cultural Centre. Members have voting rights of who represents the community on the Board of Directors.
