National Ribbon Skirt Day

Wear your ribbon skirts or shirts with pride! Now that a National Ribbon Skirt Day bill has passed in parliament. It started with the shaming of a young Indigenous girl in Saskatchewan when she wore a ribbon skirt for the school’s “formal dress” day. She was told that her ribbon skirt was not appropriate, and not formal.

Public outcry led to this bill being introduced and now passed. So on this first National Ribbon Skirt Day and in the years to come–wear your Ribbon Skirts and Shirts with pride !!
