SUMMARY:RYDE--Orange Shirt Pin
DESCRIPTION:Orange Shirt Pin is an activity to bring attention to the Every Child Matters movement. \nEvery Child Matters / Orange Shirt Day / Truth and Reconciliation Day — September 30 \nOrange Shirt Day\, observed annually on September 30\, is an Indigenous-led commemoration to raise awareness of the residential school system’s intergenerational impacts and to promote reconciliation and anti-racism. Inspired by former residential school student Phyllis Jack Webstad\, who shared her story of having her new orange shirt taken away on her first day\, the day symbolizes the stripping of Indigenous children’s cultures\, freedoms\, and self-esteem. Wearing an orange shirt is a commitment to learning the history of these institutions\, honouring Survivors\, and remembering the children who never returned home.

SUMMARY:Bracebridge--Orange Shirt Pin
DESCRIPTION:Join our team of facilitators as they lead you through a hands on activity. Orange Shirt Pin is an activity to bring attention to the Every Child Matters movement. \nWe would like to say maarsii\, miigwetch\, nia:wen\, thank you to our facility location sponsor — South Muskoka Ministries\, Bracebridge Salvation Army Church
